Food Quality Managers ensure food products are safe, meet standards, and comply with regulations by overseeing quality assurance (QA) teams, managing processes, conducting audits, and implementing improvement plans in food production facilities.
They focus on everything from raw ingredients to final product, ensuring consistency, checking for contaminants (like E.coli), training staff, and handling documentation for traceability, all while minimizing recalls and building customer trust.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee QA/QC: Direct staff, manage daily checks (pH, temp, ATP), and maintain quality records.

Ensure Compliance: Uphold federal, state, and customer standards, managing HACCP/FSMS plans.

Implement Systems: Develop and manage Food Quality Management Systems (QMS) for efficiency.

Audit & Improve: Conduct internal/external audits, identify root causes of issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Manage Risk: Address quality failures, coordinate recalls (if needed), and ensure traceability.
